The Ultimate Gift Guide To Make Work Better

Gift Ideas for Your Coworkers, Friends, and Family

Are you still figuring out what presents to get everyone for the holidays this year? Gift shopping can be super stressful, especially when you’re trying to balance shopping with work, kids, and everything else you have to do.

I don’t know about you, but I always look at gift guides for inspiration. Even if I’m shopping for someone I know super well—like my twin!—I use gift guides for a starting point in my holiday planning.

There’s something about seeing what somebody else thinks is cool that gets my imagination flowing and helps me figure out what to get everyone on my list. Sometimes I buy the items that were on the gift guide, and sometimes those suggestions just serve as a starting point in my search.

But without gift guides, I don’t know what I’d do for my Christmas shopping. That’s why I decided to put one together for The Printable Pair.

Even if you don’t buy the gifts that are on this guide, I hope this provides some inspiration for your holiday shopping. Whether you’re looking for gifts for your coworkers or for your bff who’s going back to the office soon, these gifts should give you ideas for most adults on your list.

Here are 12 of my top gift ideas for 2023.

The Ultimate Gift Guide to Make Work Better

Gift Ideas For The Friend Who’s Going Back to the Office

Is your bff going back to the office after her company’s new CEO ended remote work? Or maybe you have a friend who just landed her dream job after months of interviewing. Either way, you want to make sure they’re going into the office prepared. These gift ideas will make the daily office slog a little easier.

w&p Porter Collection

I love everything in this collection. It’s absolutely perfect for bringing your lunch to work. My favorite items are the ceramic bowl and the glass lunch bowls, which I use to pack my own lunches. They’re a much more sustainable option than paper or plastic containers, and they look so cute! I frequently use the lunch bowl to pack up my leftovers from dinner and simply reheat in the microwave the next day. It’s super portable, I don’t have to worry about plastics leaching into my food, AND it’s both microwave and dishwasher safe. It doesn’t get much easier than that!

As an added bonus, w&p also has really great craft cocktail kits, cocktail mixers, and barware—so if your friend could use some help unwinding after work, look no further!

Zojirushi Travel Mug

There are few brands I will unabashedly promote more than Zojirushi. I have yet to find a Zojirushi product that I don’t absolutely love—and I have quite a few of them. Everything they make is super high quality and I promise they will exceed your expectations.

Their travel mugs are no exception. They say their mugs will keep your drinks hot or cold for six hours, but I think that’s being modest. I once forgot my coffee in the car in the middle of winter, and when I took a sip after work, more than eight hours later, I almost burned my mouth! They really do work amazingly well. I actually have them in multiple colors – light colors for my cold drinks, and dark colors for my coffee and tea. They’re a must for your coffee-loving friend!

Gifts For The Home Office

Do you have a loved one who has made the switch to full-time remote work? You can’t go wrong with some gifts for their home office.

Office Decor

Is your husband still sitting in a kitchen chair all day as he sits at the computer for work? Has your sister converted a vanity into a work desk? Splurge and get your loved one the piece of furniture they’ve been missing in their home office. Amazon has great deals on everything from luxury office chairs, to desks, to beautiful rugs to spruce up the room.

Looking for a last-minute gift to spruce up your friends office without breaking the bank? Office wall art makes a great, easy gift for anyone on your list.

High-Quality Canvas Prints

Don’t let your bff’s office walls stay bare! Order some beautiful canvas prints to decorate her home office. Wall26 offers customizable canvas prints that you can easily create right on Amazon! Looking for something even more dramatic for your friend’s office? With wall26, you can even create custom wall murals with your favorite photos.

Gifts for the Friend or Family Member Who’s Working to Stay Healthy

Sometimes exercise can take the back burner when someone throws themselves into work. If you have someone on your list who wants to get back into a fitness routine but keeps putting it off, these gifts can be the perfect way to help them kickstart their workout plan.

iFit Membership

Let’s face it. Going to the gym is a challenge. Getting up, dressed, and out the door can seem like a chore in itself. iFit takes the extra work out of the equation by allowing you to get in a fantastic workout right from your own home. They have a ton of different programs, making it perfect for all fitness levels and interests. Whether your friend is looking for a high-intensity program with guidance to get into shape, or yoga classes to reconnect, iFit has something for everyone.

Peloton

Ok, a Peloton is probably a bit too expensive to get for just anybody, but it’s the perfect gift for someone who’s looking to stay healthy. I resisted getting one for quite a while because I thought it would be too much money and wasn’t even sure if I’d like spin classes. When I did the math, I realized it was actually way cheaper than a gym membership, especially when split between my sister and I, and I got a great deal, so I felt it was actually very reasonably priced. And I’ve found that I love the classes themselves, with 20 and 30-minute classes flying by. Plus, all the other classes they have available off the bike are really great. If you have a special someone on your list who’s serious about working out, I definitely think a Peloton is worth it. (PS: if you use my referral code D8UUSE when purchasing, you’ll receive up to $100 in accessories to help you get the most of your new bike!)

Walking Pad

Does your partner spend most of their day sitting at their desk? A walking pad can help any sedentary remote worker get their 10,000 daily steps without even thinking about it. I got a walking pad earlier this year, and it’s helped me stay more alert and productive during the workday—while upping my daily step count significantly. Get one for your bff or partner and you’ll definitely be on their good list this year.

Gifts for Your Coworker Participating in Dry January

Were you planning on gifting each of your coworkers a bottle of wine until you heard one of them say they were participating in dry January this year? Don’t worry! I have you covered. These alcohol alternatives are a fun, satisfying way to replace the after-work drinking ritual.

Curious Elixirs

I first tried a Curious Elixir for a virtual happy hour I was hosting, and was immediately hooked. These alcohol-free mocktails are just as tasty and fun as any cocktail. I’ve taken to drinking them after a stressful day at work and have been surprised at how much they’ve helped me relax. That could be because of the replication of the after-work drink ritual, or because each Curious Elixir contains adaptogens to help you unwind.

Ritual Zero Proof

If your newly alcohol-free friend loves to serve as the bartender at parties, then Rital Zero Proof drinks might be the perfect gift. These alcohol-free versions of rum, gin, tequila, and whiskey are the perfect alternatives for your friend’s favorite cocktails. While they might not exactly replicate the taste of the liquor they’re replacing, I think they do a pretty good job—and make a damn good mocktail.

Gifts For Lifelong Learners

We all have that friend that soaks up trivia like a sponge. Or the bookworm who’s always telling you about the new autobiography they just finished. These gifts are sure to satisfy even the most voracious reader.

Audible Gift Membership

Does your boyfriend love to read, but can’t seem to find enough time to finish all the books on his list because of his long commute back-and-forth to work? Get him an Audible Gift Membership so he can listen to as many books as he wants while he drives! I resisted trying audiobooks for a long time because I love diving into the pages of a good book and didn’t think listening to a story would have the same impact, but I’m now addicted. While there are certain books I still prefer to read myself, my Audible subscription has been a true game changer.

Kindle Unlimited

For those sticklers who aren’t yet convinced to switch to audiobooks, there’s still Kindle Unlimited. Gift your loved one the chance to read as many books as they want every month! Pro tip: this is also a perfect present for your preteen who’s just discovered YA novels and can’t put them down.

Wondery+

Wondery+ is the perfect gift for your podcast-loving boss. Wondery+ a premium podcast subscription that gives them ad-free and early access to all their favorite content. What better way to help them keep up with their favorite true crime stories or listen to their nerdy history deep-dives?

Gifts To Help Your BFF Look Their Best

Do you have a friend who’s starting a new job with a totally different dress code? Help them fill their wardrobe with work-appropriate outfits with these gift ideas.

Prime Try Before You Buy

Prime Try Before You Buy is a great option for your friend who’s struggling to figure out what to wear to work. With Try Before You Buy, your friend can try up to six items for seven days—they’ll only be charged for what they keep. This is an especially useful gift for noncommittal fashionistas who have difficulty deciding what pieces to add to their closet.

Stitch Fix

Stitch Fix works similarly to Personal Shopper, but stands out for a few reasons. First, in addition to options for men and women, Stitch Fix also offers clothes for children—which can be a great timesaver for busy parents. They also offer subscription options, meaning your gift recipient can get a box of clothes delivered on a regular basis throughout the year (you can choose how often the box gets sent)! In addition, Stitch Fix offers several brands that are exclusive to the service, so your friend can ensure they stand out from the crowd. I ordered Stitch Fix for myself when I started a new job, and love it. I get a box delivered every season to refresh my wardrobe for the changing seasons, and I’ve kept almost every item I’ve been sent so far!
